Updated New Course: RMP Live Lessons – Guaranteed Pass or Your Money Back

I am pleased to announce to completely updated  course for Risk Management Professional (RMP):

RMP Live Lessons – Guaranteed Pass or Your Money Back

This is an in-depth video course and comes with a full money-back guarantee directly linked to you passing the PMI-RMP exam. It also comes packaged with the RMP 30 (or 40) Contact Hours.

This video course’s first version was made available in April, 2021. Since then, it has enabled many successful PMI-RMPs. This course is based on the new Exam Content Outline (ECO 2022) for the RMP exam, the Foundational Standard for Risk Management in Portfolios, Programs and Projects (2019), the PMBOK Guide, 7th edition (2021) and PMBOK Guide 6th edition (2017), Risk Management in Agile/Hybrid environment and other needed references. It also refers to the Practice Standard for Risk Management, as needed.

The RMP exam is a difficult exam and some say it’s more difficult than the PMP exam considering its scope, contents and understanding of Risk Management. You can read one such review here: RMP Exam is Tougher Than the PMP Exam. A number of RMPs have referred the earlier version of this course to clear the RMP exam.

         RMP Success Stories

The updates have happened after months of preparation and understanding on the latest exam. In fact, the updates are frequent in nature. The RMP Live Lessons Course is now fully compliant with the latest RMP Exam.

For existing customers of this course all the below updates will be FREE of cost.

What’s New in the Course – RMP Live Lessons?

Below are the top highlights for the updates to this course.

1. Completely NEW Set of Welcome Videos and NEW Content for RMP Exam under Introduction Lesson

The RMP exam has completely changed considering the educational requirements (one more has been added), number of questions (total questions, scored and unscored), question types, new exam content outline (ECO) released in March/April 2022, new references such as Foundational Standard for Risk Management, PMBOK Guide 7th edition, among others.

2. Videos with COMPLETE Mapping of Risk Management Processes to ECO’s domains.

The exam content outline of the RMP exam has completely changed and it comes with a new set of five exam domains. Each domain consists of a number of tasks and enablers.

Considering this new video content has been added for all the processes of Risk Management and how it maps to the new ECO. Remember, the exam follows the ECO to set the questions.

3. NEW in-depth videos for Twelve Project Management Principles (PR).

The PMBOK guide, 7th edition has a principle-based approach with twelve principles. New (and exhaustive) sets of videos are added to understand the principles with focus on risk management. For example, the Risk Management PR (Principle 10: Optimize Risk Responses) has a number of overlapping with other PRs.

4. NEW in-depth videos for Eight Performance Domains (PD).

The PMBOK guide, 7th edition has eight performance domains, which are a group of related activities and functions critical to effective deliveries of project outcomes. The PMBOK guide, 7th edition is outcome (not output) focused. A new set of videos have been added with a number of diagrams, differences and convergence points between PMBOK7 and PMBOK6.

5. NEW Full-Length Question Set covering Foundational Risk Standard and PMBOK Guide, 7th edition and the new RMP ECO.

A new full-length question set (115 questions and detailed answers) has been added. This question set purely references two:

  • PMBOK Guide, 7th edition which is applicable from March/April 2022 onward
  • The Standard for Risk Management in Portfolios, Programs and Projects (Foundational Standard)
  • The new RMP exam content outline (ECO)

6. NEW in-depth videos on Probability, Distribution and Probability Distributions in Risk Management.

A detailed set of videos are added for probability, distributions (a large number of distributions with advanced ones) and probability distributions. Additional explanations given for Monte Carlo and Latin Hypercube simulations.

7. NEW set of videos for Project Life Cycle and Development Approach.

The new RMP ECO clearly informs about a number of possible life cycles – predictive, adaptive or hybrid. Hence, a new set of exhaustive videos on how to select a life cycle has been added. One complexity model addresses how to select the life cycle based on uncertainties and complexities. This is explained in-depth.

8. NEW in-depth videos on Uncertainty Performance Domain.

A new set of exhaustive videos has been added for the Uncertainty performance domain (PD), the 8th PD of the PMBOK guide, 7th edition. This PD is very important considering uncertainties, ambiguities, complexities, volatilities and risks.

9. NEW in-depth videos for the interactions of Principles, Performance Domains and Models, Method and Artifacts (MMAs).

For your exam, you need to understand how the twelve management principles, eight PDs and MMAs interact. The first explanation is in a generic way. Next, considering Uncertainty PD, it’s explained more specifically how they interact.

10. NEW set of videos for Complexity and Other Models.

In the PMBOK guide, 7th edition comes with a number of models, one of them being the complexity models. These complexity models will be associated with Uncertainties and Risks. For example, a completely new model of Cynefin Framework has been explained in-depth. Explanations are also there for other models, e.g., Process Group Model.

11. NEW set of videos for Foundational Risk Standard, PMBOK7 and PMBOK6 working together.

The Foundational Risk Standard has seven risk management principles, risk management life cycle and seven risk management processes. PMBOK7, as noted before, is not a process-based standard, but principle-based. PMBOK6, on the other hand, is a process-based standard. This creates big confusion. A set of videos are there to explain how to proceed with the RMP Exam with consideration for the Process Group model.

12. NEW in-depth videos for Risk Management in Agile.

Agile and Hybrid approaches are now part of the RMP exam (as per ECO). Hence, detailed videos are now available for Agile artifacts, Agile roles, and Agile events. All these are explained from a Risk Management context.  It also includes detailed explanation on Servant Leadership, a favored leadership style and referenced in PMBOK7 and the new ECO.

13. NEW video for Risk Management Process Interactions in Agile.

The 7 processes for risk management per the Foundational Standard for Risk Management can also be applied in an Agile environment. It’s explained in detail and how various Agile artifacts, events and role interplay.

Agile content is also available in the Foundational Standard for Risk Management and explanations consider this standard.

14. NEW in-depth videos for Agile (and Hybrid when needed) in every Risk Management Process.

For all the risk management processes, from Plan Risk Management to Monitor Risks, a separate and dedicated section on Agile is added. This section informs how the related activities are conducted in an Agile environment. For example, considering Risk Monitoring, how does one monitor the risks in an Agile/Adaptive environment?

15. NEW videos for Risk-Adjusted Backlog, Risk-Adjusted ROI, Exception Plan, Story Points, Relative Estimations, among others.

A number of the above concepts are now available both in the Foundational Risk Standard and PMBOK7. Hence, new videos have been made available for them. They are put in respective processes, where they will be used most.

16. NEW videos for Risk Map, Risk Board, Risk Census Chart, Risk Burndown Chart, Risk Reviews etc.

All the above concepts are newly added to the RMP Live Lessons. For example, Risk Reviews is a key topic in Uncertainty PD (PMBOK7) and how you have to know how Risk Reviews happen in both predictive and adaptive approaches.

17. NEW videos specifically for new concepts from PMBOK7 such as Risk Threat Profile, Leading and Lagging indicators, among others.

The PMBOK7 has a number of new risk related concepts as mentioned above. New videos are now available for all of them.

18. NEW videos on-line RMP proctor exam.

The RMP exam can now be taken online via a proctor (and also traditional center-based mode). A dedicated set of videos are available on how to take the exam in both modes.

19. UPDATED with a number of tips and tricks and UPDATED Course Index File.

A number of new tips and tricks have been added to the course. In addition, as I frequently write on Risk Management topics, new contents made available via it are now part of the course.

The index file is important to know the latest content of the course. The new ones are highlighted for the NEW, as well as the UPDATED content.

20. NEW XLS Sheet with the processes with ITTOs.

For your RMP exam, you still have to refer to the PMBOK 6th edition. This is because the Foundational Risk Standard is mainly process-based and it aligns 100% with PMBOK6! Hence, an XLS sheet is available for the processes and ITTOs.

Note: The XLS sheet can be downloaded.

ACP Live Lessons Review – One Stop Solution to Ace the PMI-ACP Exam

By John P S Oliver, PMI-ACP, PMP, RMP, PMI-PBA

During my preparation for the Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP®) exam from Project Management Institute (PMI) ®, I’ve prepared strongly to clear the exam. It’s not an easy exam like 2-days Scrum Master course or a Product Owner course, which almost everyone gets!

A question that frequently comes is this:

Is the ACP exam needed for a professional and does it truly help?

With Agile being widely practiced not only in IT software projects but also in non-IT projects today, the PMI-ACP certification certainly adds value to one’s knowledge and career. This complements the reason why PMI-ACP is one of the fastest growing certifications in the world today. With the booming start-ups, certified agile practitioners are in high demand and having the PMI-ACP certification is certainly a differentiator in the market.

I’ve gone through this course of ACP Live Lessons – Guaranteed Pass course in-depth. I’ve also checked the lesson-end as well as full-length questions. Below is my detailed review.

Why this Course?

Let’s start with the Unique Selling Point (USP) of this course. This course provides you with all the concepts and knowledge gathered from all the reference books (10+) prescribed by PMI for the ACP examination. For example, you have books for Scrum in detail, two books for Kanban, and multiple other books related to Agile. Hence, this course virtually makes it a one stop study guide for passing your PMI-ACP examination.

The bonus is that it comes with a full Money Back guarantee which speaks a lot about the confidence of the author in his material.

Top Advantages

Some of the top advantages of this course are as follows:

  • This is a complete course since it starts from explaining the PMI-ACP certification, its background, prerequisites, application procedure, exam fees, and exam pattern all the way to maintaining your PMI-ACP certification once you have achieved it.
  • The course is structured in such a way that it follows the Agile Practice Guide, which is a key guide for the examination.
  • This course also provides you with the mandatory training hours required for qualifying to apply for the PMI-ACP exam.
  • This course is so comprehensive that it will not only enable the student to pass the PMI-ACP exam if they prepare well but will also provide them with the knowledge required to practice agile values, principles and approach in real time projects.

Course – ACP Live Lessons: Key Features

Following are the key aspects of the course – which I found to be unique and distinct.

  • This course is well organized with relevant chapters and topics following the Agile Practice Guide.
  • Each lesson starts with the respective list of domains, sub domains, tasks, tools and techniques (T&Ts) and knowledge and skills (K&S) from the exam content outline (ECO) applicable to the lesson. This helps us in relating the ECO to specific topics / situations which is very useful from exam point of view
  • The durations of the videos are short - the longest being 11 or 12 minutes. This helps the students in a couple of ways:
    • With most students being working professionals and pursue the course in between their work from home, they can easily bookmark and return to the videos in case of a break.
    • They can easily go back to topics that they want to refer or revise.
  • The author uses real life and practical examples to explain the concepts in plain English which makes it easy for the students to understand.
  • The author keeps updating the course in response to changes in the underlying reference material so that the students are up to date with the changes to curriculum.

Most Helpful Topics

Below are some of the topics that helped me the most:

  • Explanation of various agile framework and methodologies
    • SCRUM, XP, KANBAN, LEAN
    • Their similarities and differences
    • Scrum events
    • Scrum Artefacts
  • Conflict Management
  • Tools and Techniques for Requirements Elicitation
  • Prioritization Factors
  • Features and Benefits
  • Various Agile Exercises
  • User Stories

This course covers all concepts related to Agile including advanced Agile Management. This helps you to get a holistic knowledge of Agile and not just from an exam point of view alone. This will come in handy when you practically apply agile in your real time projects.

Question Sets

While the lesson-end questions provided me with an opportunity to test my knowledge and understanding of the lesson, the full-length questions prepared me for the exam.

The one that helped me the most in my understanding of agile principles was "Lesson – 10: Various Agile Exercises". This is truly a differentiator and helps you master agile practices.

Specific and Important Videos

This is a complete video set and all videos should be viewed in combination to get an overall understanding of the course. There are some videos that I believe are more useful in understanding the concepts better.

  • Videos: 3.1.35, 36 Characteristics of Information Radiators
  • Video: 3.1.44 Collaboration vs. Coordination
  • Video: 3.2.10 Scrum Events – Figure
  • Video: 4.1.7 Features, Benefits, Agile Business Value
  • Video: 4.1.14,15 Prioritization Factors
  • Video: 4.1.25, 26 Backlog Refinement
  • Video: 4.1.51 Agile Contracting Techniques
  • Video: 5.1.8 Stakeholder levels and classification models
  • Video: 5.1.16 – 27 Eliciting Stakeholder Requirements to Collaboration Games
  • Video: 6.1.12 – Agile Team – Roles and Responsibilities
  • Video: 6.1.14 to 6.1.20 Building Agile Teams to Team Motivation
  • Video: 7.1.19, 20 User Stories and Type of Stories
  • Video: 7.1.61 Agile Earned Value Management (Agile EVM)
  • Video: 8.1.10 Technical Debt
  • Video: 8.1.12 to 23 Risk Management in Agile
  • Video: 9.1.23, 24 Value Stream Mapping
  • Video: 9.1.31 to 45 Retrospectives

It’s pertinent to note that throughout the course, the author uses various examples and snapshots to explain the concepts and metrics:

  • For example, a real-time user for Personas helps you to not only understand the concept but also provides you with a template to use in real life projects.
  • Some other useful snapshots are the Kanban Board, Task Board, Burn down chart, Fishbone diagram.

The PMI-ACP formula gold card is very useful as I had received a couple of formula-based questions especially on Agile EVM and EMV.

One of the highlights of this course is the yogic vision and yogic revision tips throughout the lessons which induces you to revise important concepts and points from the exam point of view. The tips for before/during/after the exam will guide you to prepare for the exam in an assured way.

Lessons in the Course – ACP Live Lessons

This course has multiple Lessons (from “Welcome” to “Lesson - 12”). Following are some of the important notes for each lesson.

Lesson – 1: Welcome

The course starts with the “Welcome” lesson which provides you with an overview of this ACP Live Lessons course including details about the Author, his qualification and experience, how to approach this course, and the money back guarantee criteria. In fact, I don’t think moneyback guarantee is needed because I am sure anybody who goes through this course and takes the exam with due preparation will only have success as the outcome.

With this course you will also get the 21 contact hours certificate required for taking the exam (in my opinion, a Big Bonus). This welcome session helps us in getting started with the course.

Lesson – 2: Introduction

This lesson provides the background and overview of PMI certifications and the uniqueness of PMI-ACP certification. It covers the pre-requisites, exam content outline, exam structure, performance domains, tools and techniques, knowledge and skills of PMI-ACP certification. This lesson also provides information on the cost, blueprint and process of the PMI-ACP exam along with guidelines for filling up the application form and maintaining your PMI-ACP certification once you have earned it.

In short, this lesson helps us in understanding the PMI-ACP certification and sets us on our journey to achieving the PMI-ACP certification.

Lesson – 3: Agile Principles and Mindset (Duration: Over 5 hours)

This lesson covers agile frameworks and approaches. This session covers all Domains, Sub Domain, Tasks, Tools & Techniques and Knowledge & Skills. I had questions on Scrum, XP, Kanban and Lean approaches.

The lesson helped me through the exercises to remember, yogic vision and yogic revision tips. Especially the Artefacts and Events related to the approaches were presented in a coherent and easy to recall manner. I received a few questions on Scrum roles, events and Artefacts, Information radiators.

Lesson – 4: Value Driven Delivery (Duration: Neary 4 hours)

This is the lesson that generates the MOST number of questions in the exam.

I received quite a number of questions in my exam as well. This lesson covers Features and Benefits, User Stories, Accounting Principles, Prioritization factors and Techniques, Backlog Refinement, Risk Adjusted Backlog, Scrum and Kanban, EMV, DoD, Agile Contracts, Compliance, among others.

Lesson – 5: Stakeholder Engagement (Duration: Over 3 hours)

I received a couple of questions from this lesson.

This lesson informs in detail on Agile Business Case, Elements of Project Charter, Tools and Techniques for elicitation – Personas, Collaboration games, Communication Options and effectiveness, Synchronous and Asynchronous communication, Levels of listening, Conflict Resolution Strategies, among others.

Lesson – 6: Team Performance (Duration: Nearly 3.5 hours)

Some important topics in this lesson are Modes in Training, Coaching and Mentoring, Levels of coaching, Osmotic Communication, Characteristics of Agile teams, Velocity, Various performance tracking tools etc.

Burn down charts is another important topic. I received a couple of questions on velocity and burn down charts.

Lesson – 7: Adaptive Planning (Duration: Over 4 hours)

Important topics from this lesson are Agile Discovery, DEEP Characteristics, User Stories, Story Map, Various estimation techniques, and Agile EVM.

In my ACP exam, I received questions on User Stories, Estimation Techniques and Agile EVM.

Lesson – 8: Problem Detection and Resolution (Duration: Nearly 3 hours)

In my exam, there were questions from this domain as well. It covers Risk Management, Cycle Time and Lead Time, Throughput, Variance and Trend Analysis, Problem Solving Techniques, among others in depth.

Lesson – 9: Continuous Improvement (Duration: Nearly 3.5 hours)

Retrospectives is one of the most important topics from an exam point of view, please be thorough in your understanding of retrospectives – their objective, timing, participants, duration, input, output etc.

I had a couple of questions on retrospectives, all situational. I also had questions from other areas. This lesson discusses Kaizen, Hybrid Model, Seven Wastes and Value Stream Mapping, Pre-Mortem, Fishbone analysis, Agile Coach – Success and Failure modes.

Lesson – 10: Various Agile Exercises (Duration: 1.5 hours)

This is a bonus for the video lessons and a key differentiator. These exercises provide a great way to measure your level of understanding of the agile concepts and revisit and revise them.

Lesson – 11: 6 Full Length Question and Answer Sets

The questions are of high quality and exhaustive. While the PMI-ACP book has only 3 full sets, the ACP Video Lessons has 6 full length questions and answers and your scores on this will serve as an indicator of your readiness to take up the exam.

Lesson – 12: Final Talk (06m 15s)

This session provides you with tips to prepare for PMI-ACP before, during and after the exam. The PMI-ACP formula gold cards provide you with a ready reckoner of the various formulas used in Agile and will be helpful in your exam.

Course Comparison: ACP 21 Contact Hours Vs. ACP Live Lessons

There are now new courses on the Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP®) exam from the Project Management Institute (PMI®). These new courses are already being used by aspiring PMI-ACPs.

Among the questions I received, one question is particularly important.

What are the main differences between these courses?

Another associated question is this:

What are the differences with the credentials such as Master of Scrum or Owner of Product which are done in 2- or 3-days?

First, we will see the differences and then we will compare with other courses. These courses are unique and are ONLY such courses in the world. No one gives moneyback guarantee (but everyone claims to give!), without a number of terms and conditions. Both these courses come with full moneyback guarantee and with simple, direct and upfront moneyback schemes.

Fundamental Difference

First and foremost, these two courses vary with their goal(s) and objective(s) with the associated motto.

For ACP 21 Contact Hours, these are the goal, objective and motto.

  • One Goal: Get the 21 contact hours with complete satisfaction.
  • One Objective: Get the 21 ACP contact hours in 6 months.
  • One Motto: Don’t just get casually trained for 21 contact hours. Understand fully, learn strongly and prepare well for your ACP exam.

To know more, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0AFHhrCNmE [2m 08s]

For ACP Live Lessons, these are the goal, objectives and motto.

  • One Goal: You clear the ACP exam.
  • Two Objectives:
    • Get the ACP Contact Hours Certificate.
    • Crack the ACP exam in 6 months.
  • One Motto: Learn deeply and use it to clear the ACP Exam.

To know more, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBYKHDyoifc [2m 26s]

You can see all the sample videos in this playlist:
Sample Video Playlist for ACP Live Lessons - 29 Videos

Note: A number of videos from the above playlist are also part of ACP 21 Contact Hours Online Course.

Now, let's see the other differences.

Other Main Differences

I’ve noted other main differences in the below two tables. Actually, it’s one table, but I’ve segregated them into two because I’ve prepared to have better visibility and understanding.

The second part of this table is noted below.

*Note* Price Update [2025]:

  • For ACP 21 Contact Hours: $75 USD/ Rs 6,379 (6 months access) [details]
  • For ACP Live Lessons: $379 USD/ Rs 32,219 (6 months access) [details]

Now a very important part considering millions of masters of Scrums or owners of Product!

Comparison with 2 Days of Master of Scrum or Owner of Product

There is a plethora of courses in the market, which claim to make you master of Scrum, Kanban or Agile with 2-days of training. Now-a-days, they have advanced mastery courses with another 2-days of training!

I’ve always wondered how people get mastery in just 16 hours of training. Is it possible in any field of human endeavor to have mastery in 2 days?

I believe you know the answer!

Let me give an example from hundreds of classes I’ve taken on Agile, where I’ve met “masters”, “owners” – hundreds of them.

Example:

In my classes, I ask people, especially who have got “masters” in Agile/Scrum:

  • Can you tell me the 4 values and 12 principles of Agile Manifesto?
  • Not one person could answer this.

Next, I ask the following by reducing the standard:

  • Can you tell me 2 values and 2 principles of Agile Manifesto?
  • Not one person could answer!

This is where it becomes quite surprising!  I reduce the standard much lower, and ask:

  • Can you tell me just one value and one principle of Agile Manifesto?
  • This also could not be answered by one person! One person tried (out of 100s), but could not complete a single principle statement.

As recently as last week, I was speaking with another "master" of Scrum/Agile and asked these questions. The person could not answer, though became a "master" (or "owner") few days before.

Please note that it’s not their fault that they can’t even tell just one value and/or one principle of the Agile manifesto, but it’s the way they have been taught.

If you want to be a “Master” of Scrum or “Master” of Kanban or a “Owner” of a Product in 2, 3 days or even less, then ACP is not a right fit for you.

Because for the ACP exam, you have to prepare sincerely and honestly. You have to truly earn it. There are no shortcuts.

ACP course and subsequently earning the credential is for professionals, who:

  • Want to learn Agile with a large breadth and depth.
  • Want to learn a number of Agile frameworks and Scaled Frameworks.
  • Want to apply a number of engineering and troubleshooting practices in the real-world.
With these courses, you will also remember the 4 values and 12 principles.

Conclusion

I’ve enabled many ACPs, who have used my book, I Want To Be An ACP and/or Various Practical Agile courses over years to clear the ACP exam and/or apply them with hands-on tools.

When you purchase the courses, I’m also involved with you throughout your journey. Many providers can’t do that, because they don’t have the subject matter understanding. They merely aggregate the courses, reduce the price to the lowest point possible and then claim to do business (some with heavy external funding, hence can sell at throw-away prices, but with poor quality courses).

I firmly believe with these courses, you will:

  • Get the best value for your money.
  • Have the content with the latest agile standards, guides and the needed references/books.
  • Understand the content clearly, which boosts your confidence.

If you prepare sincerely and honestly, with these courses – particularly with ACP Live Lessons course, you have a fair chance to clear the ACP exam and be a certified PMI-ACP.
